Since the 2024 implementation of the Nail Service Hygiene Management Standards, industry hygiene oversight has intensified, resulting in 20% of non-compliant salons being shut down. The standards mandate “one customer, one disinfection” for tools, single-use supplies, and bans on excessive nail filing and illegal chemical use. Regulatory authorities have increased inspections and established a blacklist system to penalize poor product quality and hygiene violations. This cleanup has benefited compliant salons, which have seen a 25% average increase in customer traffic due to enhanced trust. The industry association plans to introduce a salon rating system to further promote healthy, sustainable development.
